Stage III act clutch.. good deal?
Im gettin a stage 3 act 6 puck (just the disc) tonight with roughly 300 miles for $70. i know the guy and he had it in for only 400 miles and didnt burn out once with that clutch in. Is this a good deal or not? let me know any info helps.
and also is this going to be a good clutch for my car i have a ls boosted on 20 lbs with 350 horse with a si tranny (non lsd) and the rest of the clutch set up with exception of this disc is all from my exedy stage 2 setup, no matter what i burned out alot with the stage 2 is this gonna help the problem at all? thanks

Yes, it should. Tell me -- is it true: can you burn out in 3rd gear going around 65mph if you romp on it? I've heard stories, but I want to know for sure.
i have the act heavy duty pressure plate and the 6-puck. It grabs really good, it does chatter some (most 6-pucks do) but you'll figure it out when you drive it, its rated for 285tq.

so is it 400 or 300 miles?
i wouldnt buy it unless i personally knew 100% that he never beat on it for the break in period

puck disks don't last long. maybe 10k on a daily driver. because there's barely any life on it. they are for track guys who drop their trannies often. aftermarket clutches (mostly stg2's and up) are about the pressure plate and the clamping force from it. so when they advertise that a stg3 is EXTREME and for TRACK use only, they are talking about the disk. its not about if you can drive it or not, but a matter of how long the disk will last.

that is true haha, i can be doin about 75 in fifth and drop it in fourth and roast them until i let go (with the kuhmo ecstas i'm not cheating with crappy tires
)
ya its really a temporary thing, like about two months until i get my original ls built for my turbo setup so i'm not worried about long jevity but since you guys bring that up what clutch should i put in the motor i'm building? i plan on sleeving it, cams, arp studs, mostly stuff so it wont blow the motor. not too much more performance. and it is gonna be a daily driver including long trips and race on weekends
also i already have traction bars and new 16's and z rated tires are on the way
and sorry about the 300 and 400 answers i was kinda

thanks guys!

a clutch with a heavy pressure plate that'll hold the power. and a full face disk
http://www.turboclutch.com has a few i can recommend, depending on how deep your pockets are.
