It's OBD-II. Get a chipped P28 and a OBD-II to OBD-I wiring harness if you want to convert it to OBD-I.

There would be some minimal gains to this if you use a chipped ECU, but I wouldn't do this.

I'd go standalone.

01 ITR is OBD-II but is OBD-III complaint.
This is from my Honda cert. tech friend of mine.

 

Of course the dealer guy is always right.. specially since there is no OBD-III.

Most refer them as OBD2 ver 2 or OBD2b
