Civic with B18C5 OBD2 to OBD1?
Im planning to have a 98 ITR swapped into my 92 Civic CX. What is the easiest and cost affective way to convert it to OBD1 specs? I heard the P30 ecu is the best to use and to chip it or will the P28 and P72 be ok also? Also what else is needed to be replaced besides the ecu, like the harness, cap, rotor, injectors, etc...
any info. is greatly appreciated... im fairly new to this

This is what you do:
Use the ITR wiring harness. All will bolt in perfect. You will still be able to utilize everthing, injectors, distributor and a few other things. If you plan on using an OBD 1 harness, you need to replace your distributor and injectors.
As for the ECU, the best thing would be a reprogrammed P28. Check the classifieds, I think that Kenji may still have one for sale (already chipped).

OBd2-to-OBd1 conversion harness = 175 shipped.
Oh...nevermind....I thought this was an OBD2 chassis going to run a OBd1 ecu.

ECHO!!!
fowler is correct. I've got the same swap you are talking about, and I've done 2 of them, going on 3.
Use the ITR engine harness and it will all plug right into the underhood Civic harness. Then just run a re-chipped P28 and you have a better-than-stock ECU and no rewiring of ****.
I have run both a JDM P73 ITR ECU and a kenji-chipped P28 and his P28 is better period. More power, no speed limiter, and a higher rev limit too for when I get my cams

OBD2 to OBD1 harnes is to run the P73 ECU, not the P28 re-chipped ones.
If you've got a USDM car, but a JDM swap, then you can use the USDM Civic engine harness and injectors, and then re-pin the ITR distributor. You will also have to add a VTEC oil pressure unit if you plan on running a USDM ECU like the P28, but these are things I'm pretty sure you know Dragon.
I don't know why people use the jumper harnesses. They still require the addotional wiring up of the extra 02 sensor, crank fluctuation sensor, etc. and then the car runs OBD2, which is more CEL proned than the OBD1 stuff.

Okay I have One to throw at you...
OBD2 to OBD1 Harness... What is it for? If the Engine Harness on an OBD2 engine will Plug into an OBD1 Car then why are people buying the OBD2 to OBD1 Harness?

in his case, he will still need a harness to convert the motor, or he can use his stock harness on the new motor, but he'll need to add a couple wires, and maybe change a couple plugs.

Thing is... Aren't the JDM Type R Engines are OBD1 with OBD2 Connectors anyway?
for you running a chipped p28..you will just use your civic harness, and it should all plug right in.

Re: Civic with B18C5 OBD2 to OBD1? (SuperDragII)
These are the facts for your car/situation.
Drop in the B18C5 swap using the B18C5 engine harness. It will plug right in and bolt right up.
Plug in my chipped P28 ECU. There is no wiring that needs to be done because your Civic is a '92 and all '92 Civics came wired for VTEC.
I am running a special on my ECUs this week (until April 13th). $215 chipped and shipped. VTEC 5300 RPMs and the revlimiter is at 9100 RPMs. Dozens of H-Tech members use and love my ECU.
Email me if you are interested or need any help with your swap. Thanks and good luck.
