Default Timing Belt Shopping list. (Just wanna make sure)

Hey there guys! I am planning to do a timing belt change on my 01 Accord LX. Just wondering, what are the shopping list for this car?

-Timing Belt
-Balancer Belt
-Accesorry Belt (A/C and PS/Alternator)

I am not planning to replace my water pump. Please don't flame me on this or talk to me into changing it. Though I might. Just don't mention this. =D

Are those the 3 things to be replace? How about the seals (hard to replace?) and do I need to buy any retaining rings???

Torque wrench a must?

(I am going to buy timing belt and balancer belt a Honda Dealer)

Why not the water pump in all honesty?

You're already down there. And it'd be the time to change it.........

crank seal
cam seal
front balance shaft seal retainer kit
if you have the money replace the tensioners (i'm guessing you're 90k+) but they were like $60 & $70 for me and that was with company discount damn

valve cover gasket set? had to ask why not the water pump. it's like taking a shower and wearing the same **** stained drawers after you get out the shower.

Do I really have to change all those Seals? I'm actually at 85K. So, might as well change it.

Is there a retaining ring inside the F23Ax??? I know 5th gen engine had a problem with that. Same goes for the F23?

BTW when you guys tighten bolts and stuff in the timing, did you guys use a torque wrench?

yes, replace the seals. They are probably about $2 a piece and aren't hard to replace. I used a scratch awl, poked it through the face of the seal and pried it out. Then using a large socket like and axle nut socket I tapped the new seal into place.

You can hold off on the tensioners and see how they feel when you have it apart, the dealership told me they don't usually replace them unless need be. I usually change them just to be safe.

I won't say anything about the ***** ****

yes, I use a torque wrench on every bolt. A bit over the top, maybe, but I feel more comfortable knowing it's at the recommended spec.

I would also add a valve cover gasket and maybe eve a thermostat since the coolant will be drained. Both are pretty cheap.

All righty, I will buy the seals just in case if they look crappy. Should be ok though... I will definitely buy the valve cover gasket.

It's cool. I usually use my 5th gen as an example a lot in HT. the 6th gen is my parents.

Cool thanks guys! I hope all goes smooth.
