b17 block with gsr head
i was woundering what the drawbacks of using a b17 block with a gsr head.. im geting a really good deal on the block with internals on it.. i tryed searching but i couldnt really find anything that help anwser my question..lol the only thing that came up was this thread bashing a guy that asked the same question.
my goals are to build a all motor car and hopefully reach 200 hp... would this be possible with a b17 block? thx guys your info will be really helpful

The B17 block is the same block as a B16, just with different crank/rods/pistons. There would be no massive advantage other than the fact that the GSR combustion chambers are slightly smaller, so a bump in compression. The quench pads are another area of discussion, but i don't bother discussing them.
IMHO, it would be easier to hit 200WHP with a 1.8 bottom end. You could build a 200whp n/a 1.7 no problem with some research and money, but why not fork out some extra money, do a 1.8 or 2.0 build and get some more torque?
