Evolution H2B kit, alum or steel oil pan required?
I have the alum oil pan and when i put the cutout template on the oil pan for the grinding procedure, it doesnt line up worth a ****. In the picture provided with the kit, it appears to look like it has a steel pan. Which is hella thinner than an alum one and in theory according to me, would allow the cardboard template to fit properly. Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks to all that help.

What on evo's kit do you have to grind? Because with QSD's kit, all you're grinding of the oil pan is part of the lip, so it wouldn't matter if it was made of alum or steel
you have to clearance the block and oil pan so the driverside axle hub/boot clears it properly. Otherwise without grinding it will interfere and not line up at all.
I guess if my friend had the damn trans here, i could grind till its clearanced all the way, but he doesnt, so all i have to go off of is this template. Bottom line, i dont want to mess it up, rather have ideal conditions rather than try and reinvent the wheel as i go.

Ok, so it's the same with QSD's kit, and all I did was grind away until I made enough room for the half-shaft, the kit didn't even come with a template. You can honestly do this by trial and error, the amount you take off isn't a danger to the block or the pan.
Honestly, I would just wait until you get your transmission. It's the only way to be sure.

Just remember to throw some silicone on the area you grind off for extra protection.
