****vtec problem***

Default ****vtec problem***

i have a 2000 honda civic si and every time i pass 5500rpm my vtec wont kick in, so then i unplugged my ecu for a little bit n then plugged it bac in and i worked only once n after that it wont work any more until i unplug my ecu again n then plug it bac in.

Clean the screen out of the vtec solinoid.

I'll chime in and x3 the oil level. This is usually the first thing to check when VTEC isn't working...

we fixed it we jus put some wire fron tha vtec to a switch in my car so now i can hit vtec wenever

No, you didn't fix it...you rigged it. There's a reason that VTEC wasn't engaging, and usually VTEC doesn't engage because there's something wrong with the car.

that could be the dumbest thing i've heard on these forums - it's set from factory for a reason. your throwing a CEL cause you either have a bad oil pressure sensor or youre just low on oil from redlining the **** out of your car.

not trying to thread jack but my vtec does not seem to be engaging either. the only cel im throwing is 41 which is primary o2 sensor. now ive searched and some people are saying that an o2 sensor is a "soft cel" (meaning omissions relater) is would this cause vtec not work.

o yea my car is a 97 hx with b16a2 in it and i have it jumped back to obd1 status and is running a p28 ecu with p30 map. thanks for the help.

I actually have some VTEC Fluid for sale, Got it from the Honda dealer down the street. Dont worry its OEM JDM CTR AND ITR Ready!!!!!! This will fix your problem, GUARANTEED! I'm selling it for 480$ a quart, your prolly gonna need like 9 quarts so..
