Default Anybody ever seen this before? Transmission related

I noticed my car was bleeding oil while it was running so I jack it up and check the oil. The dipstick says I'm good. So naturally I check the tranny, and it's empty. I fill it up with MTF and then turn the car on and see that my tranny is flowing oil like a river behind the flywheel.

So I pulled the tranny out instead of watching the superbowl on Sunday, which is when I see this.

Apparantly the bolt that holds the clutch lever into place snapped and then was speared into the tranny. So now I gotta find a new transmission housing to swap my JDM YS1/LSD internals into...

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? I'm assuming it was bolt failure but when something goes wrong with my car it's usually user (my own) error.

never seen that before.. if you are lucky though, you might be able to just have the hole welded up.

well I plan on cracking it apart and basically rebuilding it. I'm positive the Quaife is intact, however I hope everything else is pretty much good to just swap over to a new case.

EDIT: I'm definately hoping that a shop can just weld it back into shape.

At the same time I figure I might as well swap my b16a back into it, or even do a ls/vtec while I'm at.

The problem is debating whether I should just use the b16a with 162whp/112tq, keep the ls in there, or build up a basic ls/vtec...

i would have to say that your best bet would be to get a new housing, and keep the guts from this one
