Default Quick Air Compressor Question

This might not be the best place to ask this but...... I'm looking into buying this used 4 gal air compressor for $50 to only use to fill tires and occasional impact gun with a 1/2 drive (4.5CFM @ 90psi). Would something like this hold up for what I need it for? What do you guys have in regards to small compressors?

Sorry to mods if this isn't in the right spot.

#1 I'd check to see if that 4 gal air compressor can flow that much SCFM air at 90 psi... I doubt it?

After using my friends 18V Dewalt impact guns extensive during my Subaru swap I picked up a set I love them so much. I also have a compressor and impacts, but the cordless are as easy as pulling the battery out of the charger and zip. The 1/2" drive wrench is suprising powerful also. I may have a good source for you if you email or pm me or something...I can't because I too new here.

You're on the right track. You should match the compressor's output with the tools you plan to use. The question is, what is the volume of the compressor you are thinking of buying?

my experiences with a small compressor are that you are always waiting for them to fill. they work great for things such as air nailers and that sort of thing because those dont use alot of air per hit. but if using with an impact wrench about the time you break a nut, the compressor kicks in and then you have to wait for it to refill. as far as tires, they work just fine. for 50 dollers hell why not. later on if you find that this compressor isnt big enough for your needs, then upgrade to a bigger one. this is about like the small one i own, and it works very well for the price. http://www.harborfreight.com/c...94734

I use a northern tool 4 gallon dual tank compressor for my impact wrench. It flows 4.2 cfm @90 psi. I have not had any problems with it taking off lower ball joints and such and it was only $125. It seems pretty good quality too, being an oil bath motor. Craftsman 4 gallon does not have the cfm to support such things. Porter cable and Dewalt also make 4 gallon duals that could support an impact but they go for like 300. It really depends on the unit...

i might go with this one for now since i'm only using it to break bolts and such. i can always upgrade too.
