how do u kno wat kind of tranny u have because the guy who sold me the car said that he threw on a b16 tranny...but im not sure...how to identify it?? wat boltons would be the best to throw on my LS in an eg hatch????

it should be a vin number plate on the tranny .if not.then it is hard to identify.
for your b18b engine.most people use a grs head and called it ls/vtec.

on my b16a tranny. it is at around 3800 rpm when i cruise at 5th gear at 70 mph.

trannys didn't have vins until 96, also there are no VINs jdm trannys

Depends on what your going to be using the car for...if you have to commute on the highway/interstate regularly, then I wouldn't go for the B16 transmission because your RPM's will be pretty high for just regular driving (see crazyguy's post).

Sure, the car will accelerate quicker, but for a daily driver, I wouldn't recommend it.
