Default H&R Racing Springs V.S. S-Techs?????

Hey i just bought a 2000 honda civic si and its on stock height. im not into racing but more into looks and comfort since im using it for commuting. but i want a drop where the fender is very close to the tire (stock si rims). i heard h&r does this very well better than other things but i also want good comfort. i hear s-techs is very popular for comfort. which should i get if i just want balanced good looks, not tooo low and not high enough to show too much wheel gap????? THANKS!

I've had Neuspeed race springs on a 99' Civic Si. From cars and pictures I've seen over the years, looks comparable with the drop of the H&R race springs. With the Si's oem rims, oem sideskirts and oem front lip, the "race" drop is not practical for daily driving. (At least in my area and for my uses).

I would lean towards purchasing the S-techs or other "sport" drop springs such as Eibach Sportlines. Or, you can get some coilovers like Ground Controls. Definitely get some aftermarket shocks too. Use the HT search feature to find pictures of what different drops look like.

Another option, if you want a closer to stock height, are some OEM ITR springs. It's what I'll be using in my dd.

height looks like this (not my actual car):

It'll be higher than any height my car has ever been at, but I need to be able to drive into parking garages in the downtown area without scraping like a ****.

for no scraping

for the 4x4 look

there are two completely different spring heights with two completely different spring rates.

There's no comparison.

hrmm im not really into stock height or anywhere near that, i also dont want the fenders to be covering the tires but what i meant was s techs give less drop and are more softer correct? and h&r is i believe 2.25 all around? but what im wondering is how is the ride quality im planning to ride on STOCK SHOCKS since theyre fairly new

Going to have to disagree with you here, i have the H&R Race (are you sure you didnt have the H&R sport?) and my tires fit perfectly into the fender. Its not slammed or anything, but as for ride height/quality, i love it. I have them with skunk2 struts and i love them.
I have had the H&R's on stock struts for over 5 months no problems, i just got the skunk2 struts on this past weekend. So i mean it will work fine with stock struts as far as im concerned.

I'm on S-Techs with stock shocks. The ride comfort is exactly like stock. The drop is to about 1 finger gap in the front.. not tucking any tire on mine. I kinda want lower though with the same comfort but I don't think that's possible.

With my H&R race, i dont have a gap at all. But it doesnt completely tuck the tire.

I would say, go for the H&R Sports, they aren't TOO harsh and they drop pretty low, since you have an EM1, they would bring the fender pretty close to the tire due to the heavier B Series engine you have.
