tranny problem?

heres my problem. i have a 00 si, it is really hard to shift into second gear. when im driving and go to shift into 3rd it likes to pop out buy itself. all the other gears its fine. could this be bent shift fork, syncro or anything with with the linkage? thanks alot
More than likely your syncro's, dog teeth and wearing down and cant hold the gear. You could try checking your linkages, if there loose it can cause it to come out of gear.

The same thing happend to me and for me the problem is the shift linkage the tubes from the shifter going to the tranny are kind of screw like crooked and the touch eachother thats why it was hard to shift i solve the problem ! check the linkages or either change the oil of ur tranny!! and if the problem persist go to a shop and get it fixed

I'm for sure no expert but I have an 00 Si too and just got that same problem fixed no more than a month ago. For me it was 4th gear.
I had it "fixed" mulipule times and the same thing kept happening. I ended up getting the tranny rebuilt.
What I learned from the experience is after the first time of getting it "fixed" I should have had it rebuilt from there instead of pouring the money that should have been used for headers and catback exhaust into it =P

Well the input bearing went bad originally so I had them replaced and the new ones were bad to I guess and they got into all of the tranny and tore it up.
I went to the shop 4 or 5 times after for the problem you explained happened to me. They checked the tranny out each time and put more and more parts into the tranny and adjusted it. Each time costing me a minimum of 200$.
Finally I was just like eff man you screwed my car up so he said it needed to be rebuilt and he would pay for half. So I ended up paying 400$ for the rebuild and everythings great now.
