Default Door wont close right, '93 EX Coupe

So, I finally decided it was time and I spent all day, changed the timing belt, replaced the ground wires w/ thicker gauge wires, cleaned under the hood just did some overall maintenance on my car...

I had did it all on my new service ramps which I thought were cool. No jacks, just drive on up, sweet.

Well after I was all done and started it up and drove down I realized my driver door does not close the way it should, it sits too low to align with th U shaped latch, you have to lift and close. I must have slightly warped my frame or door or something.

Any quick fixes?

I tried to unscrew the U latch, but that was no avail, those screws are on there amazingly tight. I ended up stripping one using all the might I had with the biggest screw driver... All of the bolts that connect the hinge to the door/frame look fine... I'm at a loss of what I can do and the fact that I can't close my own door right pisses me off.

I have the impression that most hinges give up after some time on Honda's..

Try lifting the door up from the rear - and see if
it is any slack in the hinges. (Either the upper or the lower)

Well when you lift it, the hinges seem ok, the give is just where the pin is, it really doesn't move much, just enough to get it back closed . I'll take pics tonight.

Get a friend to lift up on the door while you look at your hinges with a flash light. Most likely one of the hinges is worn out or loose. There would not be anyway that only half the door has play and the other half does not.

Also, don't lift up and down on the door with the door all the way open. Leave it almost closed. Then you can really see the play. If there is no play then maybe someone hung on your door while you had it opened bending the door down. This can be fixed with a 2x4 and a jack under the door. Just be carefull not to bend the bottom of your door or jack way too high up with it.

Well there is no play on the actual hinges but it does move a VERY little bit on that bolt thingy that drops down to hold the two parts of the hinges together (maybe 1/4" or less on the other end of the door) just enough to get it to close.

Good idea w/ the 2x4 + jack, assuming I'm careful this might get the door back toward where its suppose to be.

Thanks for the ideas!
