Default noob question lol about my ef hatch

i got a b16a swap but im trading my friend my b16a block for a b18b1 ls block, his block has 12:1 pistions, eagle h beam rods.....and so on and my block is all stock, he said he will do all the work if i trade him plus fix all the other problems on my car because he is making his hatch back to stock.........anyways i was wondering would i be any faster at all if i trade him blocks? sorry for the noob question lol

You're question is kind of ambiguous.

Are you saying he wants your B16 block in exchange for his B18B block? I assume you are saying you want to do an LS-VTEC?

If so, then yes. The LS-VTEC does have higher torque and horsepower numbers than a stock B16.

"Will I be faster"= bench racing=lame.

Your buddy sure is jonesing for your block if he's willing to do all this work for a simple exchange. You may want to look for "the catch". sounds fishy.

There has to be a catch, I call on the friend being 100% honest. And if he is, but until then

this is just a bad idea waiting to happen. It will be about the same. How do you know how healthy his / your motor is? also, is there any REAL point to this thread? or did you just want some attention?

Sounds like a disaster if you had to ask about it.

Do you even know how to swap those blocks? You can't just slap them together and call it a day.

You need to do some more research! You are doomed if you dont SEARCH.

dont do it. u would be better and it would be more reliable if u just put in the whole B16 and do a couple small things as far as tuning and small bolt ons. what do u have right now? a single cam? that is what i have and when driving friends B16 cars its a huge diff. i say put the whole B16 in and see how u like it and then go from there.
