Default Noobish Cam Question. Why swap only intake cam?

I read here about some people only swapping out the intake cam on their b16 for a CTR cam. . . and saying that it gets slightly more power than swapping both? Anyways, regardless what they say. . . I wanna know. Why? Whats the pro's? Con's? I have a 94' del Sol VTEC. Another thing, would JDM B16 cams give me any HP? or are they the same? Thanks!

ctr intake cam is exactly same as usdm 00-01 itr intake cam, and most people say exhaust cam profile is similar to b16a exhaust cam. i am not saying it is a waste of money to buy the exhaust cam. but what makes a difference is on intake cam, longer duration. and you can keep using your stock b16a valve springs and retainer if you dont rev over 8000 rpm
i just swapped a brand new ctr itnake cam on my jdm b16a sir2 engine. perfomance wise. i couldnt say yet.cause i need to get the engine tune.right now. the air and fuel ratio is off and it would be easier to tune the car if you have a chipped ecu

The ctr intake cam has a slightly bigger profile than the itr, and the exhaust both ctr and itr are the same.

Nevermind the JDM B16 question lol.
Thanks for your replies! I didn't even know you could buy just the intake CTR Cam.
