my remote dont tell me when the alarm goes off..?
i have a clifford 50.5x alarm installed on a 99 prelude. when i arm and disarm, it shows on the lcd screne of the remote.. but when the alarm goes off, i dont recieve anything on the screne, until i press disarm, then it beeps and shows that my alarm went off.. my friend installed the alarm, not a shop.. so could the problem be with the wiring, or the remote? should i jus bring it in to a professional and have them take it apart and install it again?
It is unlikely that wiring is the problem, I am assuming that all other functions are working, just no page from the alarm when it goes off.
If so, then it is a problem in the remote or the brain, because "your friend" did the install your best bet ie to go back to the place you got the system from, show them what is wrong, if it was us we would quickly program another remote to confirm where the problem is, if it's the remote we would just give you the new remote if it's under warranty.
If the remote is not the problem, new programed remote also does not receive the page, you will have to remove the systems brain, or pay the shop to do it.
depending on how old the brain is, less then a year and it'd over the counter exchange at our shop, you will then have to reinstall and program the new brain, unless your paying them to do it.
With that said, if you got your Clifford 50.5x from an unauthorized DEI dealer and had your buddy do the install, good luck, at the very least you will be without an alarm for a while.

theres no warrnty, it was jus a little import shop that sells aftermarket stuff and alarms.. they dont install or anything.. if i bring it to a professional, would they be able to tell if the problem is coming from the remote or brain? and should i jus pay for them to re-install it and buy a new remote?
Yes, any shop should be able to figure out what is wrong, best bet is an authorized DEI dealer that sells Clifford.
As I said, we would just program a new remote and that would tell us if the problem is in the remote or the brain, that part should not take more then 5 min., if the problem is in the remote you can buy a new one, if it's in the brain you are going to have to buy a new system, unless the little import shop will replace it under their warranty.

The remote needs to be reprogrammed to accept the incomming page. If that feature is turned off the remote won't show the page.

press and hold all 4 buttons( at the same time ) for 5 sec. This puts the remote in program mode. you will hear a beep to let you know you entered the mode. each button turns on a function or off. you have vibrate, light on the display, two way notification and i think zone bypass. its late and i cant remember. after you turn what ever on or off let the remote chill 4 5 secs and you will hear a beep letting you know its out of programing mode.

Yea, you can, lol and the stupied thing is that its not mention in the install guide or in troubleshooting section at the end of the install guide.
And it has caused me plenty of headaches and time and labor on swapping out remotes. They only talk about it in the user guide. You hold the program button down till it beeps then press the star key. Then let the remote exit the program mode. I will check again in the morning to make sure

Well even old farts can learn something new, I have been away from this too long, [working at a DEI dealer] but that is exactly what the problem seems to be, from BayAreaBB6 discription of what is happening...
"i dont recieve anything on the screne, until i press disarm, then it beeps and shows that my alarm went off"
When the Page Mode is on, the
remote control will wake up periodically to check for messages
from the security module. It will also wake up when any button
is pushed. When Page Mode is off, the remote control “sleeps”
until a button is pushed, extending the life of the battery.
So BayAreaBB6 before you do anything else, check the programing of your remote.
