viper paging alarm problem
I have a viper paging alarm and when I press lock and unlock the car it gets armed and disarmed , but the problem is that it doesnt show that on my remote. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Or how to fix it? The model is 791vx I belive, I dont have the box at my house. I have tried disconnecting my battery on the remote and the car but that didnt fix it.
TIA

Could be a defective antenna, or the circuit in the brain that transmits confirmation back to the remote is malfunctioning. Vipers have a lifetime warranty on them. Take it back to the place who installed it and let them take care of it.
If you got it and had it installed at an authorized DEI dealer, there should be a lifetime warranty on the alarm and the install, and there should not be any charges
.
The problem could be in the remote or the main unit, there is no way we can tell what is wrong, at out shop if you came in with that problem we would first program a new remote into the alarm, [it would take less then a min.] if the new remote worked and the alarm was less then 1 year old, you would get the new remote and we would send in your old one and have it replaced by DEI.
If that didn't work, we would plug in a new brain and program your remote to it, if that worked we would just leave it in the car, [if it is a current model] and send your old brain to DEI for replacement, if it was not a current model, we would plug something that would work, [so you would still have an alarm] and send yours to DEI for service, and reinstall it when it came back all of the above at no cost to you, [if you got it and had it installed by us] for as long as you own the car, [lifetime] and the alarm or it's wiring is not tampered with
