Dont put any kind of sealant on or in the rear main seal itself, just use honda-bond or the gasket that came with it to seal metal casing that bolts to the block.

dont use vise grips for christs sake, get the right tool. and look up torque specs, dont "tighten it as hard as you can" i mean if you want to do it right just keep tightening it until the bolt turns easy.

well the bolt was lose before i even started to tigthen it so i figured ill just tight it with the vise grips...... do u even know what tool that is?? and i pretty sure the specs on that big *** bolt is like 80-90 ft/lbs.... alot of pressure dude.. but i will look up the specs and get the tool. but i think the vise grips did the job.. Im mainly conserned with the rear main seal cuz i aready put sealant last night and was hoping that it wouldnt hurt it...

what do you think sealant will do around a rotating part rotating 7,000 RPM's? do you really think thats the answer to your problem?
