so car wont start...
so my rear main seal was leaking real bad so we decided to replace it today... as im getting the tools out my buddy starts pulling **** off the car, he decides to not take the battery power wire off and ends up pulling the starter power wire and dropping it so that it hits something and starts sparking... then the ground wire from the valve cover to the rad support started smoking... so of course i was pissed but any way, we got the seal replaced and put everything back together and before i start the car i double check everything and made sure all wiring and grounds were connected, and tight, all clips were good, i even checked all the fueses from when my buddy dropped the power wire... so the fuses are good, wires and grounds tight, everythings connected... so i try start the car and it just turns over and over and over.. eventually if backfires once and then still just keeps turning over and over... doesnt even sound like its trying to start, just turns over.... any ideas what could be wrong? could my buddy have fried my main relay even though its getting fuel and spark? fuel filters new also...
Lol. I can't imagine why somone would NOT want to dissconnect the battery wire when doing a job like that. Ur suppose to disc. the battery just so things like that don't happen. Anyways. If ur ground started smoking good chance it could have severed the connection somewhere along the wire. Check all ur grounds for continuity and resistance. Also double check ur fuses. And are u sure ur getting fuel AND spark?
my fuel pumps a 255lph walboro fuel pump, thats a little hard not to hear along with the fuel pressure gauge that goes to almost 40psi when i try starting it... as for the spark i have a clear dizzy cap and can see it has power and spark and also checked the wires and they got power also... so they are both fine... and yah i know about the battery, and trust me i was pissed but now that i think about it... since everything looks fine and that i have done this NUMEROUS times (changing rear main seals or trannys on hondas) and this the first time ive had a problem, i began thinking and realized "I" didnt put the dizzy back on... so im thinking my buddy put it on wrong so ima try pulling that off and turning it 180 degrees and adjust that then tomorrow and see if thats what was wrong... i have a feeling thats what it is...
