Default Compression test came out bad =(

I did a compression test about a week ago on my gsr integra

I was about to boost but wanted to check the compression.

it came out

220 170 185 160

not very good numbers

That means it not safe to boost my car right??

What kind of suggestions you guys have for a rebuild deciding my compression on the car to be either
8:1
or
9:1???

Sleeves to use etc.

since my motor is not healthy (because compression test)
Also how much would this affect my 1/4 mile time as of now??
I went i went 15.1 with my integra how its runing now with just exhuast and hi flow cat.

i thought since it ran a alright time the motor was healthy??

So should i have ran better

thanks

If I were you I would find out whats wrong first, then I would start rebuilding thats just what I would do. Who know maybe its not that serious.

I agree with that. You could just need a valve job. It would be a shame to tear apart a motor that just needed the valve seats cut. do a leak down test on the motor to see where you are losing compession.

Did you have it WOT?
Did you crank the same amount of times on each cyl?
Did you disable the fuel / ignition?
Was the motor warm or cold?
What kind of tester did you use?
Did you do the test more than once?

I was a engineering lab technician for 4 years so I always assume there is significant technician error. If the results are indeed below spec - you should do a leakdown test to determine where the loss of compression is coming from.

Leakdown will confirm how bad it is. I just put my old gsr in my brothers LS only to find out it was damaged (was boosted to 250whp for 10k miles and had 80k total...)

Compression was 190-180-190-90. Did a leakdown test on the bad cyl and you could feel air coming out the dipstick hole and hear it out the oil fill cap. Breather on the valve cover had some smoke coming out of it at idle.

Pretty sure its a cracked ringland.
