im soooo pissed off , i went to slide the hot/cold slide thing , and it just snapped, now it moves without any resistance and it completley cracked off , can i take the whole unit out , replace the slider and put it back , or do i need a whole new ac control?

Probably just the cable attached to it. Remove the AC console and verify it's just the cable.

 

theres a wire that goes from the hot/cold slider to down right below the glove compartment under the passenger side feet. ill try to find the pic that shows it but your first (and easiest) thing to do would be to look and just see if it came undone from under there.

i broke the one in my old gsr...but my fist hit the vents. ive also seen the actual slider break, not the cable

 

i did the same on my LS i broke the plastic switch and replaced it with another one i had laying around in a broken climate control i bought for 5 bucks off some other cat. Acura Doesnt sell that piece alone but they sell all the other pieces of the climate control if you do decide to buy a brand new on its 435 bucks.... IMO get another used complete one thats not broken instead of taking it all apart.

oh and every thing is interchangeable between the 94-97 ac climate control just the face plate is different

ITS def not the cable cuz the plastic is visibly broken in the little slit the slider goes thru , so i guess i need to get a used one like bluelxfodo
