Default crx SI rod bearings???

im suppossed to be picking up this crx from a friend of mine in a couple weeks for $500 .... the only thing wrong with it is the number 2 rod bearing ... so i was wondering how hard it would be to replace the rod bearings ... i dont really have the money for a swap and i can get a set of rod bearings for like $60 at advance .... by the way its a d16a6 .. stock crx si motor .... or how hard it would be to change them myself ..

pics of the car

alarm, rims, lowered, tinted windows, glow gauges, racing steering wheel, short shifter, integra seats, amber corner lights, full exhaust, intake, new stock header.... dont know the brands but will figure out

you can't just replace rod bearings if it's spun....you need a new crank/possibly machine old one

you can pop the oil pan off and pull the rod caps to see the extent of the carnage...you will end up pulling the motor to fix it if it's a spun bearing, or pick up another cheap d series

yeah how much do you think a rebuild for the motor would be ... or what motors would just drop in without having to buy anything extra besides like the engine its self

a rebuild will cost a fortune to have someone do it. If the damage isn't too bad, then I would just wait for a cheap d16 crank to come up on ebay and throw that in there with new bearings, but it really isn't the best/easiest idea. If you want an easy drop in then just get a sohc zc non vtec from japan from somewhere like hmotorsonline.

SOHC ZC from HMO is $399 and is literally a direct drop in.
