after taking off my steering wheel for the aftermarket one.. my blinkers must be manually turned off after takign a corner, is this right?

 

no this is not right. i have an aftermarket steering wheel. and in fact a quick release one and my blinkers still work as normal.

 

did you have an airbag and remove that whole assembly with it?

 

gotta leave the round cable reel in when you swap things over

 

any pics of what your talkign about?

 

Ive got an aftermarket and dont have any problems with anything.

 

You must have removed the clock spring mechanism; it releases the switch automatically after you straighten out the wheel after a turn.

 

anyone have pics of their setups? (with steering wheel remove?)

 

It's not the clock spring mechanism that does the signal cancel. It's the white (or black) bowtie-shaped piece on the combination (blinker/wiper) switch. You need to line the tabs on the bowtie with the notches on the steering wheel hub.

Not true, you just need to leave the white plastic turn signal cancel mechanism in the column.

i didn't remove that peice.. the only thing i took out was the airbag thing

Well what year/model car is this?

Then you have it. You need to align the tabs on it with the notches in the steering wheel hub.
