Default how to replace the brake/tailing light of an accord?

follow the manual, i open the trunk mat, i tried to turn bulb socket counter clockwise for a quarter, but it's so tight. Is that right? i don't want break the whole plastic thing. it's better to ask here. is there any alternative way to change the bulb?

It is kinda hard. I recently replaced the driver's side. So yea turn left... I don't think for a quarter. More like 1/8?
