so now that i've got the equipment, theres only one last question

what the hell is my "remote" wire supposed to be for on my amp? im sure i need it for something but im just about as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to wiring up an amp.

It gets connected to the blue or blue/white wire off the deck.

This wire turns the amp on/off when the deck turns on/off.
