How to polish your engine???? need a little advise
ok so im very new in the feild of polishing aluminun. so how do you polish your engine??? like what tools are needed? any help would be really appreciated!
Try mean green and a toothbrush, or engine degreaser and a toothbrush. Just dont spray the electronics, and hose the engine off when done, but be careful about what you wet.

I think he ment polish not clean. polish=using abrasives until the aluminum produces a shine similar to chrome.
I would recommend thoroughly cleaning the block (some form of light media blasting would help) and working from a low grit sand paper up to a high grit wouldn't have to be paper but something along those lines... not sure how polished you want it do want to take all the casting flaws out etc? then lots and lots of polishing compound...by hand and with various size polishing wheels on a dremel or drill or whatever.
im sure a disasembled block could be done in a media tumbler...

well it really depends how smooth you want it? so I cant tell you exactly where to start. but you are going to want to start with a low grit (start with 600 in a hard to see location see if that does anything) and work you way up as high as you can... you will need to be up in the 2000 range...and just be thorough. as far as compounds go? Try some mothers metal polish see if that does it for you.
