obd0 code 15 problem
i know the car is an integra, but i believe the majority of obd0 knowledge resides in the crx / ef forum.
stock 91 integra
Car was running fine for 15k miles, then 2 days ago my friend accidentally left the lights on while he was at work and killed the battery. He got a jump and the car fired right up. On the way home, about 5 miles int the trip, the car shut off. He pulled over and tried to start it but the car just cranked and wouldn't start. After waiting about 2 minutes the car started up and ran fine all the way back another 10 miles. Since then the car has been doing the same thing at what seems to be completely random times in a variety of different driving situations, IE high speeds, low speeds, different gears.
When i looked at the car today i pulled code 15 = ignition output signal. we cleared the code and drove it hoping it would die so i could experience what he was talking about, but the car kept running fine. he left the shop and called me a few minutes later saying it had done it again. I have gone over the connections to the distributor and popped the cap and inspected everything. everything looks almost new. the only other thing my friend has noticed is that the clock no longer holds the time and resets every time the car is shut off, but he is unsure if this problem arrived at the same time as this condition.
My next steps will be to check the yel/blk wire at the distributor for 12v, and then depending check the wires at b15 and b17 against a18 at the ecu.
Any information, advise, or speculation is appreciated.
thanks in advance

Check the actual ignition switch, I have seen a bunch go bad. when you go over bumps and such it jiggles and cuts power and car dies, when you try it again it might work. That would be my best quess without seeing it happen.

i have the exact same problem. i'm using a teg engine ... B16A from DA8 teg. so far i've replaced the ignition coil and main relay...no success. i guess it's the ignition control module.
my update:
a few days ago, i took off my distributor... took it apart to inspect the condition. i was thinking of ordering a new ignitor, but since i was busy these few days, i just left the things just like that.
today i put everything back again. i started the car. it warms up nicely. usually it would die about 2~3 minutes when the car reaches normal operating temperature. but surprisingly it did not! the engine stays running up to 40 minutes more. i'll give the car a spin on the road tomorrow morning to see whether the problem still persist or not.

update for mine...
I replaced the ignitor and it seems to have fixed the problem. I am not sure about other years but the obd0 ignitor i needed for a 90-91 integra was the same part number for 88-91 civic / crxs. i stole the ignitor out of an old 89 crx si dizzy i had.
hope this helps someone in the future.

today's update:
the engine died again after about 8 mins. i re-adjusted the ignition timing. setting it to advance made the engine die quicker, about 4 mins. then i set it retard all the way, the engine doesn't seem to die anymore... running more than 30 mins. eventually i have to turn the engine off and go to campus for class.
actually the whole engine die w/ code 15 happened after i swapped the cams to 2nd gen JDM B16A cams.
any opinion?

i might check that thing out later. thanks for reminding.

I have replaced my distributor. Coincidently my battery was flat when my mechanic tested the car, and it seems that the alternator is dead as well. As for today I only manage to get a new battery. Gonna look for the alternator tomorrow.
So far so good except that the engine is running on the battery
