this issue has been bugging me for the past 2 weeks, and i cant pin point it at all.
heres the issue:
doesnt matter if its hot/cold, im getting a repititous tapping sound. its the loudest when im in any gear, while on the gas. push in the clutch, and the sound quiets, but doesnt disappear. also noticed that it is relative to vehicle speed, not engine speed.

recent work done includes the addition of an ebay cold air (yes i put on a k&n filter in replacement of the cheesy ebay one), noticed that the pipe was tapping the A/C lines, but i ruled that noise out by slipping a thick piece of rubber in between them...

I also had an issue with my oil cap. popped my hood, and it was off, wedged at the front hoist point. put that back on, and added 2 1/2 quarts of oil that i lost. (engine bay is a little moist). i hope my valves aren't toast.

i searched, but no results for my individual problem. maybe im not using the right key words, who knows...

would you all agree that a fluid change might help? i have a new clutch to go in, however, i dont have a place to do it.

I would guess that its something in the engine bay rattling against the side of the bay or other parts...look under the hood when the car is on and try to listen and locate where its coming from...my intake was rattling when i had it bolted to the spot it was supposed to be bolted to...when i adjusted the rubber bushing it went away.

 

that makes sense, however, i can feel a vibration thru the shifter that is consistant with the noise, and that worries me. at idle there is no noise at all. complete normalicy. why do all the ghost problems happen to me......
