my civic wont start
Hey im not sure if this is the correct forum but it seem the most suitable
anyways i have a 94 civic si D16Z6
it was running fine on thursday night, it would start in the -30 weather weve had up here no problem(new battery) without even being plugged in
anyways i go out on friday morning(was warmer than weve had in awhile too) and it wouldnt start at all...it was turning just fine but it wouldnt fire
so far ive done/checked
-plugs(replaced)
-spark(fat and blue on all 4)
-timing(dead on)
-replaced the fuel filter(also the fuel was pissing out of the filter when i turned the key like a fountain)
i havnt checked the compression yet because my battery is charging right now but i dont think it could be that because it drove just fine on thursday and compression ususally doesnt go away all at once
i am also throwing codes 1,17,43
ive had 43 for a couple of years with out any problems and considering the fuel was coming out of the line like a hose i dont think thats the culprit
17 im pretty sure has nothing to do with the engine starting since its just a speedo error
and 1....im not sure...it would explain why my milage blows...i also have a dc 4-2-1 header for a Y8 on my Z6 where the bung is relocated to the firewall basically so i had to splice on 2 feet of wire last time....will the car not start because the O2 sensor is fried...the only other thing i can think of is the ecm is fried and im just not actually getting fuel to the manifold....is there a way of checking to see if the injectors are working...ie taking them off and and seeing if they squirt?
thanks in advance for any suggestions as im at a loss to whats going on

No. If the battery was dead, he wouldn't have spark or a good prime. Think again.
OP: Same thing is happening to me. Went to bed Wednesday night, Thursday morning the car wouldn't start. Thought it was the battery or the fuel. Put 4 fresh gallons in with some dryer and wamed everything up yesterday...still dead. Good fuel, TB isn't blocked. Failure is the ignitor in the distributor. Google it for more info.

I had same problem couple months ago too (mine is D15B7, though)
There was spark, timing was fine, fuel pressure was strong too. It kept on cranking and cranking and cranking.... But no luck.
Next day I tried again, cranking, cranking, cranking... It grabbed for a second, but died out. I was in a hurry, so I just left. Next morning I didnt even try anything, just towed it to a nearby shop and said it doesnt start. But they were closing for the weekend + holidays, so there was no response for 4 days...
After the holidays they called me and said that there is no problem, it started just fine. They checked everything, tried starting several times, but it was starting just fine.
I figured I probably got something bad in my fuel that time... Now I no longer fill up at Arco
