I'm having a bit of a problem with my eg, it does not want to start!!
Symptom's :
car cranks but will not kick on completely. fuel pump does not engage upon opening ignition switch. engine light comes on but after a few seconds it turns off.

I have spark and the compression is good.
i changed the fuel pump today so i know it's not the pump it self.

does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be?

Please be serious on the topic, this is a real issue and i need someones help!

Check fuses, and check main relay.

 

fuses are all good. i put my hand on the main relay as i turn the ignition switch to on and it appears to click. is anything else not supposed to work if the main relay is out?

are you getting enough power? Is the cel throwing a code at you?

 

injectors are fine, no codes.... but i figured it out.

Main relay was out!

He said in his first post the pump did not engage. The main relay was the culprit as I expected

Next time...
When you put your hand on your main relay...
it sould click once when u
turn the key to the run position.
Then click AGAIN once the CEL goes out.
That is your pump prime.
Your pump wasnt the problem.
Hope this helps u in the future.

 

^^ exactly, there's no need to put your hand on it, you could hear it click, if it doesn't your car more likely won't turn on.
