Default Doors won't lock when using remote.

This has probably been covered before, but I tried several searches and couldn't find anything helpful. I have a '00 Honda Civic and lately its power locks have not been locking when setting the alarm with the remote. I'm not sure if it's the locks that are malfunctioning or something about the alarm system that's causing this. I just wanted to know what my starting point should be in diagnosing the problem. Is there a fuse I can check?

****, I really don't know. I don't really know anything about all of this electronics stuff. All I can tell is that it's a simple straight forward system for locking doors and sounding a siren. I don't think it's factory because the siren install seems very sloppy. I'm gonna take a better look at it and maybe contact the previous owner to see what I can learn.

Trim level of the civic would help.

Also, without make & model of the aftermarket alarm/keyless, there's no way we can help you.

Crawl up under the dash and find the brain, and post back with the model number. NOT the FCC number.

Also, pics of the remote could help if you can't find the brain for whatever reason.

Let's start with, are they stock power door locks?
Do you have a power door lock switch in front of the drivers inside door handle?
If so does it work? 94

It could be either the actuator or the alarm box. More and likely it is probley the alarm box. It isnt to common for a honda actuator to go bad. If the factory door lock swithches still lock and unlock the car then, the keyless probley went bad. If the door lock switch doesnt't work then it could be that the actuators went bad and they need to be replaced. I have some stock ones from a eg coupe that i could sell you if they will work, i would have to check to see if they are the same part number.

The Civic is an Si with stock power locks. I was looking around and playing around and after fiddling with the switch on the door, the passenger door started locking and unlocking with the remote. However, the driver's side won't work with the remote or the power switch, the door can only be locked with the key. The lock seems to jam up when the mechanism tries to actuate it. I can't find the "brain", but then again probably wouldn't be able to recognize it either. The problem seems to be mechanical, but here's a shot of the remote anyway in case it helps at all.

Anyway, where should I go from here?

You need new door lock actuators. 94

PS, that is not a stock remote control.

Yeah, like I said, I think the alarm/remote are aftermarket, but as far as I can tell the power locks are stock. Is replacing the lock actuator an easy DIY?

If replacing them with stock actuators, then yes, it's a cake walk.
If installing aftermarket actuators, it will be more of a pain, and you will lose central locking. 94
