i've always wondered this... does the nissan swap affect the way the car handles immencely? by doing it, does it not "feel" like an S anymore??

It's actually for drag racing.
So it's not safe even at stock hp??
Which nissan diff do you mean, the 200sx, and do you need to make
allot of modification fir it ti fit??

wtf are you talking about.
no, the S2000 diff is NOT meant to be abused. it is weak, and would not take much of a beating.
the rear end swap everyone is referring to is the 300zx swap. it is very expensive, and no, unless your an amazing fabricator, you can't do it yourself. inlinepro sells a kit i believe.
anyway, can someone answer my previous post's question??

Shut up man.... The stock diff is fine. Just don't drive like a tool. Just like anything stock, if you abuse it it will fail.

wtf are you talking about? drag racing is out of the question on the stock diff. does that mean you drive like a tool because you drag race??
i have friends that have busted there ap1 diff from downshifting, let alone launching...jesus.
...and this guy is going to go boost... why risk it??

really? well this guy specifically asked this question because he said it was for DRAG RACING. obviously, the stock diff is fine if you don't drive like a tool ALL the time... but why even bother to risk it, on a boosted aplication, on a trip to the track, when its like a 600- 1000 dollar fix???
so how would you suggest he DRIVE his car to ensure he DOESN'T BUST HIS DIFF???

stock diff can handle that no crazy launches and no abuse. if you have ap1 diff swap to a ap2 or get the comptech reinforcement. if you want to spend money get a quaife i have one in my si no problems unlike the obx one. it was like 900 for mine s2000s should be 1250ish. its not like you even need to rediculously launch with 350 hp in a 2700 lb car shiet. tires are money
this is such a varried question with no correct answer.
theirs some stock s2000's who blow diffs, and then theirs boosted s2000's making over 300rwhp who have stock diffs that are fine.
basically it all comes down to your diff. each ones different

Absolutely 100% wrong. It's all in the way you drive the car.
If you're launching and drifting and doing burnouts, it's going to blow. If you're road racing, autocross, daily driving, spirited driving; then you're fine.
I'm pushing roughly 400rwhp/300wtq and yes, I'm on the stock diff, and no problems.

either that or get a car made for the drag strip and not an s2000.

this is possible...but quite an asseration. i know quite a few people who have busted their ap1 diffs in the oddest ways...is it more likely the should have been a TSB for the ap1's that never was? not even honda is perfect...maybe some S2000's just got a bad batch, because i've never had any problems with mine either... but there are quite a few "pwn3d diff club" members out there.
