Drum brakes
I had to replace the wheel cylinder in the rr. Now I'm replacing shoes on both sides. How the f**k do you assemble them back together? Guess I should just look at the other side huh? Got a haynes manual but I'm lost. And its damn cold, too cold to work on my car.
Just like I said in your other thread - do one side at a time so you can study the other side. You didnt do that did you?
Also, you are only replacing one wheel cylinder? That's really dumb. You should do both.

It said nothing about replacing both wheel cylinders if one goes bad though. I figured it would be fine. Am I wrong? I'm changing the shoes on both sides and cleaning it all up. I need to do more? I just need to do the conversion. Screw these drums. They suck *****. Drum brakes

If ur trying to make an SiR why are u even wasting money on repairing drums? Go buy a disc swap.
And you really should be replacing both cylinders while everything apart, And to reassemble them look at the other side, and make sure to have a few beers to calm yourself down when the springs start flying off. O and i Hope you bought a rebuild kit with the springs and what not also.
Use some needles nose and get the springs back on, the self adjuster is probably going to be a pain in the ***, I just got pissed off and threw em and manual adjusted them.

I know. I need and want to do the conversion but for the rest of the winter I figured might as well run the drums for now. I was just outside trying to pry that bitch off and smackin it with a mallet. I'm so pissed right now. I want to beat the crap outta something.
Doing that job really sucks. Luckily I had help. Just leave one side intact, and assemble the other side off the spindle a few times just so that you can get it down. You'll have to put it all together on the car itself, because you won't be able to attach the parking brake cable if you've already assembled it all.

So you can't get the drums off? If you look at the drum there should be two threaded bolt holes, just take a standard Honda sized bolt and ratchet it in both sides. This will pry the drum off.

Are you talking about the thing with a fork on each end with a toothed wheel in the middle? If you are I tried loosening it and the bitch wont budge. I'm getting help tomorrow. The crappy thing is, I spent all the money to fix the drums and I'm really close to just parking my car until I get some help to do the conversion.

That's the automatic adjuster thingy. You should be able to loosen it off. Try spraying it down with brake cleaner and using a screwdriver on it. You should be able to take off all the springs (top and bottom) and pull the whole assembly off
Can u take pics and describe your problems along with them?
