should i buy intake & test pipe / high flow cat for my S2K if i can get it for cheap?
i got a great deal on an AEM intake i think and a test pipe /w o2 bung hole for pretty cheap, about less then a bill for both i think..
will any of these mods make any HP diff AT least any?
i always remember hearing that the stock s2k setup is already perfect for the car and no need for intake & test pipe etc?

aftermarket CAI's make very little power over stock...maybe 2hp...hell, that could even be dyno error. test pipe makes about 5.

Well i have just put a test pipe on my S2000 with no other mods (yet), and the difference is fantastic. It is a noticable increase in performance (very slight, but noticeable), and the sound for me is perfect - louder than stock but not too loud. I am waiting for delivery of my J's racing intake, and will report back when fitted. So for the test pipe - go for it - just check the forums regarding the fitting and the sensor.
As regards the intake, it is worth doing a lot more research than just going for cheap - there is some good and bad ones out there. High flow filters don't seem to do much at all (J's maxflow, K&N etc.), but a good intake can make a reasonable difference.

I second the TP they are a good mod prolly my favorite cause its the a pretty good bang for the buck. Think about it 5hp for less then 100$ is good imo.
I got one on my car and Im super happy with it youll notice the power increase nothing huge but youll feel it just like the other guy said. But when you take it off and put the stock cat back on thats when you feel the real difference and you realize how much the cat holds back. I noticed a good jump in power in the 4-6k range and deff in VTEC.

^^^ exactly. i went for the j's racing one - it's a little pricey, but beautifully made, and it has the brackets so you can put the original shrouds of the cat back on to make it look like stock (so you might be able to slip it through emissions testing without having to swap back).
It's also worth disconnecting your battery for 15 minutes when you do this - i believe it resets the ECU so it handles the change better.

Yea dont forget to reset the ECU by disconecting the negative terminal of the battery for 10-15 mins. Then when your done the install start the car and let it idle for atleast 5 mins without touching the gas.
I dont really care for emmisions cause I got the hook up either way pass or fail even though I technicaly pass in the S with my CEL fix cause they dont use the exhaust sniffer on the OBDII.
My tp is stealth as **** I gutted out my stock cat so You would have no idea. The only thing that kinda throws it off is my DIY o2 fix.
Anyways TP FTW!

Dude honestly if you know what your doing it will take about 20 mins tops to take out your tp and put the cat back on for inspection when the time comes.
So dont be a bitch and do it

Which testpipe is best? I mean which test pipe do you have that made such a difference? I'm deciding on which one to go for, they're all around the same price.</TD></TR></TABLE>
pretty much a test pipe is a test pipe. its really all about the build.
i have the j's, i love it.
i would never buy one with the o2 fix already installed because half of those versions fail anyway and the cel comes on.

im going to have to disagree with you there... CAI's are known to give a decent amount... 5-10 whp is not uncommon...
and i dont like TP's... get a high flow cat... its a lil more money and the person behind you will appreciate it... plus you wont get all that black **** on the back of your bumper...
