I have seen plenty of discusssion, mostly in the RR/Auto-X forum about using them on a road course, and how its basically a band-aid for wheel hop when turboing etc, if not set up properly they can bind etc. it goes on.
Edit one of my links was a duplicate, heres the real one:

I would agree that it would absolutely need to be set up correctly. It seems from my research on it that it is just as easy to mess it up as it is to get it right. Wheel hop is the biggest reason as to why I want one.

You're a OG, you should know that's a good link
As for the rocketship speeds, Naaa they work at all speeds and types of driving.

i have the lcon for couple of years now and notice no difference in handling/traction. reason i bought it is hoping to reduce the wheel hop and side jerk when shifting in turn/s. at the time i thought it was cheaper cost wise vs replacing my bushing and motor mount. guess i was wrong. that was my opinion on my traction bar. but it was a great tool taking heads off animal on 710 freeway.
