Default Need help! d15 sohc swap into an 00dx! crank sensor not right

Hi,
here's the problem. My buddies d16y7 blew up (not sure why but it's dead)
so he got a replacement motor from a local engine seller.

The seller sold him a different but similar engine, from what he CLAIMED was the same era car. He also claimed that it should bolt right up.
Motor labeled as a z15b, i've never heard of that and have a feeling it's actually something else, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

The problem they are running into is this:
quoted from my friend...

"So, my old engine has a crankshaft sensor on the sproket. The new engine does not. I need the sensor to send rpm info to my computer. The crankshaft is a different diameter on each motor so we can't use the old sprocket with attached crank sensor...I'm sure some honda tech peeps know what to do..."
