turbo manifold breaking????
I'm guessing it's stainless because I've never seen cast iron break. My best advice is to run a cast iron manifold even if they don't look as nice as the stainless.
i just had my SS one break half the welds the other day, cast iron is definetely better to get... and have you ever had your manifolds get so hot that they like started glowing red? i did that once on my civic and if you just shut it off and not give it time to cool down at an idle then you run a lot more risk of welds breaking... but if you KEEP breaking them then id definetely get a cast iron one...
i have had an OBX and a SS and a lovefab..even got one custom made..and they all break..this lovefab broke the whole wastegate off..the ss broek all over in like 5 different places..and the same with the obx..i want to run a cast iron but the one i have want let me run the turbo i have one it..revhard told i would have to cut out on my block and tranny sum..its already cu out alot from runnin the others bc its so close..my friends say i need to get solid motor mounts and try to make helpers to hold it all up..
SS and OBX are no-brainers...they're going to break. Its more a matter of when.
Another thing, doesn't anyone know we have a Forced Induction forum?? I think its public knowledge, but i've been wrong before

Maybe he is scared to ask this kinda of question in the forced induction section because everyone in there has their button on their shirt that says "Hardcore Flamer" - Just from my experience, i said 1 thing wrong, and the entire thread i made was about that and was just an honest mistake on reading the numbers. tsk tsk @ flamers.

IMO, pretty much the whole site has its flamers, some days there are more than others but its just somthing your going to have to deal with. Hopefully someone nice enough will come along and help you out.
We all have those stupid questions and/or mistakes, it happens and people just need to learn how to deal with it.
Its just that some people really need to take the few minutes to search becuase there is a plethora of information on here if one were to take the time and look around.

ya, i catch myself flaming on people somtimes, but i really don't anymore. I try to keep everything on the main subject, i think the only time i tend to go off and rant/flame on them, is when they are total retards and deserve it. w.e though :D people stay nice to me, i stay nice back.
ps
ima go clean my optional front, side, and rear kit i got for my car today. OEM FTW!

I spend a good amount of time in the Forced Induction forum and try to give helpful advice whenever necessary...i keep flaming to a minimum (myself and others) and honestly, i see more of it in the Integra forum than the FI forum.

It doesnt matter if its reinforced... No matter what those manifolds are going to break.
Ive seen one in person and i can tell u WHY they fail...
Plain and simple the gauge of steel they use is wayyyyy too thin
and it goes from thin to thick whereever there are welds....
now thicker steel cools at a different rate than thinner steel....
now when steel is heated and cooled it expands and shrinks but if u have two pieces of metal that are different thickneses and they are both heated to the same temp and then allowed to cool on their own.. the thicker one will stay hoter longer.... because of this the two pieces of metal will want to split.... theyll crack. and no matter how many times u reweld it.. reinforce it.... keep an eye on it... It will ultimately fail....
My friend had a ramhorn made by ssac and for about 4 months it was great.... i was starting to think it would be just fine cause it showed no signs at all of any wear and tear..... but sure enough one cold night after going through a canyon we started to hear what sounded like an exhaust leak.... and checking the manifold u could see a crack right along one of the welds on one of the runners. and after that happend more cracks followed in the next 2 weeks until it wasnt useable anymore.... luckily u can salvage the flanges so its not a total lost....
but this is why SSAC is bad.

This is true. Can you get the wastegate welded back onto the lovefab mani?

I haven't had any luck with tubular manis either, went to a cast one and haven't had to worry about it, you could run a civic half rad and turn your turbo around, it sucks making a new dp and all, but you won't have any overheating problems, i had a stock rad in my civic with a boosted ls and never had an issue

I've hear nothing but good things and there manifolds are made to order!
