Default Headlight issues

So as its gotten colder, I've been having some problems with my headlights. There was a delay between when I flipped them on and when they actually turned on and sometimes they would flash on and off for as long as five minutes before they stayed on constantly.

Now, they will not turn on at all. My driving lights turn on fine and my turn signals work normally. Also, when my headlights turn on, the brights will not flip on either.

I have it narrowed down to either the switch or the relay. Any guesses as to which is the problem?

Also, the relay for the headlights is not labelled as such in any documentation I've seen. In the picture below, I jiggled all the relays and #18 caused my headlights to flash (back when they would still turn on), so I assume this would be the correct one to replace. Has anyone else had this issue, and what did you do to fix it?

Also, if anyone has the wiring schematic for the headlights (even the one from a haynes /chilton manual will do), it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it, my service manual and I are in different cities

As you said, I would imagine it'd be the relay or the switch.

Have you tried replacing the control stick on the interior? That you could test fairly easily (just grab a used one or borrow a friends) and quickly swap them to see if it works or not.

Alternatively I believe there's a relay and two fuses (one for each light) in the under the hood box as you described.

What happens if you jiggle with it now? If nothing happens I'd say that guy is toast (The relay) I had similar symptoms with my fog lights and tracked it down to everything being correct save for the relay - bought a new one and bam! They work every time now.

Yeah, I've tried jiggling it now, and it doesn't do anything...head to the dealer and pick up a new one?

dealer or pick and pull

My guess is that relay is just toast - did you see any moisture in it? That ended up being my problem - it had rusted the terminals and busted it.
