if you really want to put all that money into a swap and turbo you might as well do it right and put a K20a in it haha just my 0.2cents

dude dont swap anything. Go to the hondatuning website and look up the tech article on the R18a and read up on it. They talk about turboing the motor that is in our cars with the built in exhaust ports. I think greddy may already have a kit for our cars.

You want to swap a brand new 07 car?

Christ kid grow up.

Buy the car you want.

06/07 SI Sedan or Coupe

*edit*

So I don't come off as a total douche bag.

Swapping a motor into a car that literally is brand new isn't a very bright idea for a few reasons.

1) Depreciation, you've increased it substantially, the value of a car doesn't go up by swapping a different motor
2) Value of old motor, no one will buy it from you so it's a complete loss and you recoup no money

Other reasons why it's a bad idea:

1) Seeing that you're 18, I'm going to wager your parents bought you the car, I don't think they want you dropping $3000 into a motor, then an additional $1000 give or take dropping it in
2) It wouldn't be "sleeper", regardless of what you think

Save your money and BUY the car/platform you want to start with.

If you want to build off an SI motor, sell the LX (assuming you can, if you can't then you shouldn't bother modding it) and purchase the SI, you can get the same colors, etc and start from there (much better point, LSD,etc).

Otherwise you'll be sinking money into a loss.

I have a swapped accord, but I waited until

1) 200k miles were on it
2) I needed to do regular service anyways (major - tbelt, etc)
3) I scored a motor for a great deal

Hope that clears it up.

IMO, i think you should turbo the R18 thats in your car now. its a very good base motor to turbo off of. i am assuming (since you are 18) that you dont have a huge load of cash laying around. if you do, way to go man. but by turbo'ing the r18, you will save a lot of money over the k20z3. cuz i mean, you gotta pay for the motor and trans, and then the turbo and installation. the r18 has lower compression so it is more prepared to handle boost and you can use more stock parts for longer with it. i usually hate when people say "just get an si", but in this instance, if you really have your heart set on an si motor, then i recommend just trying to find a nice used si at a dealership and trade your lx for it. the si has a lot more to offer than the lx, other than just the engine. just my two cents

ps- RICO...i just watched that video in your signature...holy ****...one of the funniest things ive ever seen.

Just have to correct him here...in case the OP is seriously looking into a k20z3 swap. You can get a k20z3 with trans with 20k on it for like $1500, not $3000

Just tossing out numbers

I doubt if he's asking this question he can do the work himself so it'd be roughly $3000 to have it dropped in.
