Default 00 si tranny issues.. need help

i have been havin issue with my 3rd and 4th gear only when im in vtec and im switching from 2nd to 3rd it grinds and then from 3rd to 4th it grinds.. its no other gears that do it... i checked and changed my tranny fluid.. and i was thinking that it might be the synchro's in the gears because my clutch doesnt slip... also when im decelerating and i push the clutch in it feels like i have no clutch.. so im lost does anybody have any ideas what it could be?

The mostly likely cause of the grinding is one or both of the following:

1.) The teeth on the 3-4 synchro sleeve get deformed and start to hang on the synchro sleeve or not be able to engage the dog teeth on the gear smoothly. Eventually, the teeth get so deformed and the transmission won't fully engage the gear or will pop out of gear.

2.) The synchro material wears and is no longer able to match the speed of the gear with the speed of the synchro sleeve. This will eventually deteriorate into the first case, destroying the synchro sleeve, hub and the gear(s).

You will have to replace the 3-4 synchro set (~$180 in parts) and then any of the gears that were damaged.

I'm local to you. PM me and I can get you taken care of.
