My Valve stems look weird anyone had this happen before?
I bought a gsr head a couple months ago i took it off to fix a bent valve and noticed the valves looking like this. (The very tops of the valve stems)

At first i thought when the valves hit the piston caused this but it was on almost all my valves (Only cyl 3 valves were bent)and ever since i had this head a had to do a valve adjustment every two weeks so i now know it was because of the tops of the valve stems going down. I had no idea what the guys setup was when he had this in his car but i know the springs and retainers are rev`s. The spring locators are stock. Any ideas on what could have caused this? I am replacing all the valves and I don`t want it to continue.

I think you are right because when i bought the head i had to change out all the exhaust side rockers because they had grooves in them where the cams sit at. And as far as the valve adjustment its only the exhaust side i have to do every two weeks just as is the damage to the valves.

the adjuster is on the rocker arm.

who ever had it before you may have had retainer to seal clearance problems with big cams, since the rockers were damaged. did you inspect the underside of the retainer for scaring or chipping
