when u go ls/vtec is it really recommended to change the oil pump ?? Also what happens if u dont change it? Will it cause a motor breaking down,

 

well you really should use the search feature, but ill help you out a little anyways... the oil pump on an ls engine isnt meant to handle the revs that a vtec motor likes to rev to... but to answer your question, no you dont have to change it, but it would be a good idea if you plan to rev past the stock ls redline, or would like to have a more reliable setup... Personally i would swap out for a vtec oil pump...

 

why wouldnt you? if you want to do it the right way change the pump. it's just good maintenance too.

that's the water pump. all 96+ b series oil pumps are the same, vtec and non.
