No, Spoon does not offer a balanced PCT piston set.

Why Steve? I think that Spoon did quite a nice job balancing mine. At least that is what I heard from my motor builder.

Well since you live in SoCal, 91 octane is the highest octane offered. I would play it safe and get some JDM ITR's plus a thin head gasket.

B16A or B16B piston only. cheaper to get a thinner gasket than spend money
on another set of ITR pistons for the same result.

thats what i'm thinking u know...?

Spoon piston and 2 layer of gasket...

but that comes out 11.7 C/R

its the same if u just have the JDM CTR with 3 layers of gaskets.....

Oh wait nevermind, for some reason i thought CTR pistons in an ITR yielded 12.0:01 compression. After going to c-speedracing.com, definitely go with the CTR pistons and OEM gasket.

But if you get both, you will get around 11.4CR!! I know that's still kinda low for serious NA power!!

So Spoon balanced pistons and thin head gasket will work good for you.

Hey Freddy,

ITs wayne...dont know if you remember me....anywayz, heard you got many new toys for your car...

I'm thinking about raising CR too...my plan is CTR pistons, which will raise cr to about 11.2 on a type R plus mugen headgasket, which adds another .2 or .3 so about 11.5. I think 11.5 is safe to run with 91 octane

Oh well...good luck...let's meet up sometimes

wrong.
They did offer a balanced CTR piston set....I dunno if they still do though. I bought a set for my B17A engine build up back in 99 (aka blacksheep), when Eric B. was in Japan..

even if you are running big cams spoon pistons and a thiner head gasket is fine. CTR pistons is kinda overkill. I dunno if i would put CTR pistons in my car, but thats me.

That's why I said Spoon doesn't offer a balanced PCT piston set.

They are no longer offering the pistons.
