ok i'm putting a d15b vtec head on the d16y7 block, which timing belt i should use?

well if the jdm d15b vtec head that you are using, that head is the same head as the usdm d16z6 head. there is a writeup on that in the faq. if its the d15 vtec-e head, then I dont know. hope this helps

a little of subject. but cant you use isuzu pistons in one of the d series engines for a boost in compression?

u mean susuki vitara pistons, not isuzu, i dont want low compression i wanna cheap 20 HP more on my lx civic untill i have enough money for a K swap

theres an obd2 jdm d15b head that uses the same cast as a y8 head

Y7 and Y8 pistons are not the same. Look up the part # and you will see that they are different.

y8 has a little higher compression due to the head.
