Default GSR problem!!!! help anyone

just got done with the swap but the motor doesnt idle. i am using a 97 civic ex engine harness. the motor is a 98 gsr ob2 and right now it is in a 97 civic hatch. havent done any compression test yet but turned the car on and it runs for a second and then turns off. check timing and timing was way off but set it back to were it is supposed to be.

also if i put my foot on the gas just a little and turn it on the motor runs okay. but if i hold the rpm right around 1500 the rpm drops and goes back up. anyone?

Was the dizzy timing off or the timing belt itself off?

Also, if you start it and give it gas so it doesn't stall out, and rev it up to 5k or so, is it sputtering and spitting, or it revs up perfectly smooth?

it was a smooth rev after 1000. just the dizzy not the timing belt. didnt touch the timing belt because the person who i got the motor from said that he got the motor from a gsr that crashed and he didnt have time to swap the motor into his dc so he said that everything should still be in factory specs. thats why i didnt check timing belt. but like i said above timing was way off! can it be anything else?

i can use the ex engine harness cant i? my friends said that it would plug and play into the sensors on the motor and i would not need to re-pin any of the wires. anymore help

Well what are you revving it up to and how smooth does it go?

Prop something on the gas after starting it and let it warm up at 2k for 15 minutes. Then wind it up there a bit - don't forget it's not horrible as there's no load on it.

You need to find out if it's suffering from fuel delivery problems.

You checked:
IACV, vacuum lines, and throttle plate (idle) screw?

alright i finally did what you told me to do syndacate and nothing happened. i also got some code from the ecu i got a p1508, p0453 and p0450. i know that the 1508 is the IACV but i checked it with a dmm from the pin on the ecu and the connector of the iacv it-self and i am not getting any voltage. took off the iacv and clean the damn thing and nothing has change not only that i have to deal with the EGRV anymore info would be helpful.
