well they got me, even though i thought it would never happen...it did....2:00 pm i leave work...get to my car at 2:30....and i forget were i parked...the space i thought i parked at was empty , but i thought nothing of it, so i keep looking, so at this point it panic....and am freaking out and about to cry like a baby...when i look about 20 -30 ft down the lot..and i see a black ITR wing...and then i laugh thinking i really did forget were i parked....so i happilly walk over there...and what do i see...my Black ITR ....on bricks...with no wheels...they stole my cd's, a bag of clothes...my dad's Digi-cam...., i cant beleive the nerve of these people, in broad daylight, in a patroled parking lot, the security guy told me he just barely went to lunch....so probably with in an hour they did it...i had to wait there till seven for police , and for crime lab to get finger prints....blah blah...at least they still got my car...but its sitting at Acura right now on donuts, with a big dent and dings ....the only good news is i get OEM ITR wheels, with new tires , just like i've been wanting.... stupid theives....well they didnt bust the window, they simply bowed the glass out of the frame , and reached the unlock button some how......so my solution to that is , i'm going to remove the unlock buttons, and make some kinda hidden button....either that or just unlock the doors via alarm, or by key....its not gonna keep my car from being stolen , but either the theif will have to jump in and out of the window...or something..just makes things a bit harder......IMOA.....watch your R's guys....

 

Get some RS spec door handles. That should slow them down a little.

That sucks ....but look at the bright side....at least you'll get back your stuff & if not, compensated for it by $$. All the bullshit you have to go through....sucks. but it could have been worse.

yeah..it could ahve been much worse....well the car will be parked at a safe place now.....the gutted G1 teg will be my work veihicle now....lets see them steal that...it is unstealable...even if they had a master key....plus there aint much to steal...no a/c , no seats, and no radio

Dallas thieves got me a few weeks back too. My cars is still in the shop.

 

My friends car got broken into like this. Prying back the windows. It's just too damned easy. I have done the RS door handle mod. GREAT mod. Sorry bout your car, that sucks.

koo, thanks for all the info on the RS HANDLES ....it will be my next mod...i'm just happy to still have my car...at least i'll get new gun metal OEM wheels, and new tires.....i cant wait

 

maybe I'm missing somethign..... but if the RS handles still have the black tab to unlock the car and just don;t have the silver power one.. then why dun u just pop out you door handle and disconnect you power lock, instead of goign out and getting a new handle?

Cause they will still attempt to unlock it with the "chrome" switch and mess your stuff up. I have keyless entry alarm and RS door handle covers

 

Its extremely easy to bypass

 

no the itr does not have a factory alarm. it has a factory chip in the key to "keep it from being stolen". how does the "ls mod" keep the car from being broken into? just disconnect the plug on the back of the handle. And then purchase an alarm with motion sensor and pager and most of your problems will be over.

 

doing that wont stop them from getting into your car. they can still flip the manual door lock from inside that rs's have. what they do is they get a flat head screw driver, slide it downward between the frame and the window and pull out until they can get their fingers in, then they pull the entire window towards them. then they should have enough room to stick their entire arm down inside and unlock the door. best thing to do is to get proximity alarm....

 

well what the theif did to my Teg is on the passenger side they bowed out the glass window...and probably used some kinda hook or something to reach the silver power lock button, and simply unlocked the car....with out breaking the window...

 

the white 97' itr's dont come with this feature. although, thieves can still bypass this "electronic key" easily. all they need is a friend with an itr. what they do is they have thier own type r ecu and a MATCHING key that is from the same car as the ecu. when they break into the car, they swap out the ecu's and break the ignition and turn it with the key they have.

 

thats ok...they can try....i've got a few ideas in store...like a fine welded metal case for the ignition...lets see them drill thru that
