go ahead and buy all the timing stuff and do the timing belt, waterpump replacement while the motor is out of the car. it's really easy with it in the car but you might as well do it while it's out.

Oh and and clutch and flywheel if you swing it.

if i were you, not really knowing the milage of the engine, i would break it down new piston rings, bearings, gaskets, just as an insurance......

dont forget when you do a b series swap in a del sol that you need the del sol B series shiftlinkage (from the Si del sols that came with the b16a3) Other b series shift linkage will not work.

lol...what? You've never done a swap before, have you? I'm not trying to insult you dude. But out of like the 20 billion swaps I did just last year...none of them needed rings or anything. If you get sold a bum motor, you send it back and get a used one. A lot of these motors only have like 30-60k on them. They shouldn't need all that crap.

A T-belt and water pump would be a good idea...and some accesory belts since the engines are steam cleaned and the accesory belts sometimes look very frayed and F'ed up. The clutches are usually good on the motors as well. Like I said...they usually only have 30-60k on them. If you want a clutch because you think you're going to beat the crap out of it or mod it for more power, then buy a clutch. They're cheap...and it's easy when the motor is out of the car. The T-belt and water pump is also easy when the motor is out of the car. BUY AN OEM T-BELT AND WATER PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT BUY AFTERMARKET FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! You can find OEM stuff on ebay. Make sure its GENUINE HONDA. Very important. There are dealerships that sell these parts for around $150ish.

As for the clutch, I can highly recommend EXEDY. The stage 1 is a little more agressive than stock, but the modulation and pedal effort is very very good. It's a favorite of mine on NA apps. Stay away from cheap *** clutches. You dont need a "race clutch" unless you're building a race car.

You need nothing else except what comes with the swap. If it's a swap from a reputable place, that is.

You will need to so some minor wiring work. Add a subharness for VTEC, and for Knock. Then find an ECU pin out to put in the corresponding pins. Go to a junkyard, and take a few ECU connectors to use as a pin and wire source. Or use the ECU pin out/wiring diagram to see if the car is allready eqipped with the VTEC wiring. It's probably without the knock wiring, though.

It's very easy. It bolts in. If you need a step by step on how to do a swap with minimum effort, let me know. If you take it in certain steps, it goes a lot more smoothly.

well i havent heard that they are all wired for vtec, but it depends on what model you have. If you del sol originaly had a vtec motor than yes its wired in.

yeah, it was only the 92 hatches that had the vtec wiring ran up to the pass shock tower.
so just a little extra work, nothing too difficult though

my del sol had to have a wire added for vtec. So you'll have to do it.

yeah hmotors is the best. i'd choose passwordjdm if hmotors was out or something but that's about it.

A buddy of mine bought a b16 for his ef and it came with a obd2 tranny but the motor was from a crx sir. and the axles were from something else.

the engine had all kinds of broken stuff on it. So yeah, save your self a headache and buy from a good company.

Exactly, i know of someone local who had bought a motor from JSA. Looking for an OBDII motor, It came with broken sensors, Blown HG and was OBDI. One cylinder was at 75!!.

Called them and the guy there just kept giving the run around, Even worse is they dont accept returns. And i dont know about your location but They have two locations, One in texas and One in canada, If youre going through the canada supllier thats a NO NO. Ontop of all that the motor came on some ratty *** pallet wrapped in about 2 inches of plastic wrap.

I dont wanna trash some company but i am.

Try N1concepts.com. I think they're a honda tech sponsor...and they have awesome pricing.

$2800 B16B swaps, $1800 B16A OBD1 swaps, etc.

Hmotorsonline is X1000 for sure. I've recieved a few motors from that place. They have all been tip top. And VERY VERY clean (shiny, new looking). That's important to me because I'm a weird clean freak lol.

I've never bought from N1concepts....but they seem pretty legit. They even ran at the super street time attack and held a record spot for a while. I'm pretty sure they sponsor this site also. Just check what their warranty is like. If they have a 100% start up and and 100% completeness warranty, then DO IT. Make sure that if you receive the motor with a broken sensor or part, they will either replace it, or take the motor back. Call them up. Put up a post asking people about their reputation. Search honda tech for n1concepts. See if positive or negative **** comes up.

Good luck.
