damn you got pictures and everything!

on this one.. the black capped thing is basically the obd1 version of the soleniod on the fire wall. i see you took it off in the second pic
the vacuum port below it just cap it... or run it to the soleniod on the firewall

now in this one.. the black thing on the top of the throttle body is your new map sensor... just extend the wires to it

On the first pic..That thing with the black top is your purge solenoid. Down underneath is your air temp sensor.

The second pic...Your MAP is on the manifold right on top of your throttlebody.

So don't use the MAP on the firewall use the one on the TB. Don't use the purge solenoid on the firewall either use the one that is pictured attached to the manifold.
EDITED>>Or not! either way is OK.

The last thing left on the firewall is your fast idle solenoid and I can't give you any info on this as I am not familar with the TB you have.

lets test this then.. plug the map sensor on the firewall back in... and run a vacuum hose to the manifold.. like the one on the back of the manifold. see what happens

cut the car off then lets pull the map sensor off the throttle body and check its seal to the throttle body. see what happens

well go from there

Your idle... Do you have the IACV plugged in? (Round thing on back of manifold with two bolts)

If it is not plugged in then that is your idle problem.

Plug in the air intake temp sensor. (White plug in first pic by the bottom)

You need to get all the sensors plugged in.

MAP leave it on one or the other. Cap off the purge solenoid vacuum source. Also the purge line from the charcoal cannister to the throttle body(First pic..orange hose)

See what these do for you.

For now, yes. Til we get it to idle right.

Choose one and stick with it. Personally I would use the one mounted to the IM.

You say the PCV is not hooked up? C'mon hook it up.

not to thread jack but i am in the process of doing a z6 swap myself and i plan to leave the lower left vac. port hooked to the purge solenoid as it came from the factory and cap the one on top. is that correct?
