B & M Dual bend short shift installed and thoughts and review. pics inside
i chose B&M dual bend short shifter over skunk2 cause it is half price than skunk2 and does the same job. and to replace oem gsr dual bend shifter. B&M costs me $50 shipped and skunk2 will cost $100 shipped
before job started, this is how oem 95 gsr dual bend shifter looks.

the package comes with everything, bushings and lubricant and shifter. and the B&M shifter alone weights 1.4 LBS. oem 95 gsr dual bend shifter weights 0.8 LBS

pull the whole shift linkage out and lay it on the ground, it is a pain in the butt to remove the shifter

for compare and contrast. B&M shifter is shorter than gsr's and i broke the dust boot but i have already got a new one just in case. and the oem new shifter seat for smoother shifting. (white circle thing on the upper right hand corner)

replaced the old torn and worn out o rings with B&M new o rings.

B&M shifter is all set and ready to be installed.

fianlly finished installation and took me about an hour, because putting the new bushing and o rings back to extension rod is really pain in the butt.
and i would say it reduces shifting distance by 20%~25% with really firmer, smoother, and stiff shiftting.. compare to the first pic, b&m shifter is about an inch or so shorter than gsr.

thanks for looking and feel free to leave any comments.
and also i replaced the new valve cover.

Good write up.
I was thinking of getting a B&M, but I've alway had good luck with DC sports to. They're both about the same price. Skunk 2 is just over priced IMO for a peice of metal.

i got the shifter from ebay and it does not come with shift **** or anything. just lubricant , shifter and bushings
excactly as second pic shown above

Thats cool, I didn't know B&M made a dual bend. I have had the single bend by them for years and love it. I do sometimes wish it was a little closer to the driver. Does it give you more positive shifts than before? By the way your engine bay is looking way cleaner man, looks like you've put some more time into it.

Is that tin foil on your intake?</TD></TR></TABLE>
