Default screech sound from clutch?

Every once in a while when i shift (driving normally), after i engage the clutch id hear a loud screech sound(i can hear it inside and outside). It sounds as if im chirping tires..but im 100% sure im not.

any suggestions as to what it might be?

my bad guys, i meant to say that the screech sound is heard after i shift(once i release the clutch and it catches the gear)...so while the clutch is catching gear it makes the screech even and low rpms.

would it still be a throwout bearing?
Could i still just drive my car? I dont feel like getting a new clutch etc because im planning on selling the car anways.

this comes up all the time. i'm pretty sure its throwout. gotta replace mine. but i'm not removing the tranny without replacing the clutch too, so i'm waiting for that to start slipping.

I am currently having the exact same problem. It sucks, but its more than likely the TOB. Mine mainly happens only at low rpms when I am releasing the clutch. Sometimes the sound is there and other times its gone. Im going to wait until my clutch starts going out as well.

If (and that's a big IF) we are all having the same issue, does anyone else notice the clutch pedal feel a bit different when it does it. Almost like it wants to start engaging the clutch right after you start to lift your foot off the floor. That's the only time mine screeches so i've learned to pull it back out of gear pump the clutch once and do it again and it doesn't do it.

Maybe the TOB gets stuck due to some bad needle bearings???

the TOB doesnt have needle bearings, its ball bearings and i highly doubt it is getting stuck although the screeching sound does lead me to belive its TOB related.

does the car have any other symptoms when this occurs? hard shifting, slipping, clutch chatter???

As for my screeching noise. I am having some hard shifting issues along with clutch chatter, but no slipping. My clutch engages almost at the top. It seems like the clutch pedal is getting farther and farther from the floor.

Yeah it only happens at low RPMs for me as well. I was wondering how long you guys think our clutches will hold up if we keep driving as is?

ok so if your getting hard shifting and clutch chatter there is most likely something bent or missadjusted. first test that the clutch is really your cause of the hard shifting. if it is hard to shift into all gears with the car on, turn the car off and see if it gets easier, if it does then the issue is clutch related. you could have a little bit of grease or oil on the clutch that will cause it to chatter, or something could be damaged to the disc itself or the pressure plate or the TOB. the hard shifting could also be from a worn out pilot bushing catching the input shaft splines sometimes makeing both a noise and you dissenguagement issues.

im not getting hard "jerky" shifts if thats what you mean.
but when I am releasing the clutch. Sometimes the sound is there and other times its gone. All of this usually happens at low RPMS only.

Also my clutch pedal feels a bit more soft now. My uncle says it could also be the pressure plate?

I'm having the same problem, the hard part is when I'm with a mechanic, the sound just won't come out. I tried to catch it one time & when I opened the hood & followed the sound, It's like coming from the radiator fan. Or I at least that's where it is closest. Where you able to get it fixed?

i havent gotten it fixed yet.
ive been thinking about selling the car so im not putting anymore money into it. Ill just baby it until i sell it or replace the whole clutch etc later on.

goodluck with your car bro

not sure if its the same but my screetch sound tends to come out when i slip the clutch in, fast, at low rpms. Try it out maybe you can get the sound to come out.

mine is still doing the same thing, didn't bother with having Honda look into it because i'm just going to have them replace the clutch anyway, seems to do it more when it's cold, horrible sound, i also noticed that when coasting to a stop at a stop sign with the clutch in and not coming to a full stop then releasing the clutch when i try to let it back out the noise is extremely loud and annoying, like nails on a chalkboard

ps. like someone else said i've also found that you can feel when it's going to screech because the clutch engages extremely quick, if i put it back in neutral, let off the clutch, then push it back in and shift into 1st, it feels fine and won't screech
